From next year, all public and private educational institutions at the primary and secondary, and higher secondary levels in the country will have a two-day weekly holiday on Friday and Saturday, the education minister said. He said the institutions running the tri-out of the new curriculum will now have a two-day weekly off. The Education Minister said this at the inauguration of the distribution of books of the new curriculum to the students of selected institutions held at NCTB on Saturday afternoon.

The minister said, “We are starting the tryout of the new curriculum in the selected institutions from February 22. The textbooks of the new curriculum have already been distributed to selected educational institutions. With a lot of research and a lot of hard work, teachers and curriculum experts have created new curriculum books. Let us know if there are any mistakes in the new curriculum book. We hope that by correcting those aspects, we will be able to start implementing the new curriculum in the prescribed classes from 2023.

When asked when the implementation of the new curriculum will start for primary level educational institutions, the education minister said, “Our secondary level tryout will start from February 22. Primary teaching begins at the beginning of March. Once the teaching starts, they are expected to start the tryout of the new curriculum.

At the event, Dr. Deepu Mani further said, “Our hope is that through the new curriculum, students will not only be able to acquire knowledge but also learn skills, right approach, values along with acquiring knowledge. By combining everything, students will be skilled people, learn to think for themselves, expand the world of thought, learn to apply what students learn, identify problems, find solutions.

That’s how we want to build our students.  To reach the destination that we have decided on the path shown by Bangabandhu, the traditional study was not enough. So we are going to a new school so that we can reach the right destination at the right time. Today’s children will take over the country in the days to come and take the country to a place of hope. We are all striving for a new curriculum in that anticipation. The new curriculum has been put in place for students to reach the right destination at the given time.
