List of public holidays for 2024 PDF (Calendar and Calendar Notification of Government of Bangladesh)

In 2023, the Ministry of Public Administration issued a notification for leave of government, semi-government, statutory, and autonomous bodies of the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. On the official website of the Ministry of Public Administration, a PDF (PDF) copy of the public holiday list was published on October 31.With the approval of His Excellency the President, Md. Mashiur Rahman Talukdar, Deputy Secretary, Ministry, issued a public holiday notification.

Earlier on 28 October 2021. The list of leave of government institutions was approved at the cabinet meeting on the date. The meeting was chaired virtually by Hon’ble Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Public Holidays List 2022: General, Executive Orders and Optional Holidays

According to the 2022 holiday notification, government offices will now have 14 days of general leave and 8 days off on executive orders. A total of 6 days out of this have fallen during the weekend (Venus-Saturn).

BD Govt Holidays List 2024, Public National Holidays, and Bank Holidays

As an optional holiday, there will be 5 days off in the Muslim phase, 8 days in the Hindu phase (including 2 days of weekends), 8 days in the Christian phase (including 4 days of weekends) and 5 days (including 1 day weekend) in the Buddhist period.

The notification states that an employee can be allowed to enjoy optional leave of not more than 3 days a year according to his or her own religion. It has been directed that prior approval of the appropriate authority has to be obtained in this case.
