There is a second time in the GST admission test. In 2014, Dhaka University closed the opportunity of admission test for the second time. The university decided to create a level playing field in the admission test, to prevent fraud and to reduce the tendency of vacancies. Rajshahi, Chittagong, and Jagannath Universities closed Dhaka University for the second time in a row. In the face of the recent student movement, the authorities have promised to consider whether students can be given another chance in the admission test at Rajshahi University.
Students are going to get admission for the second time in the bunch admission test. At the same time, in response to the call of the Minister of Education, the bunch committee is going to take the admission test of the 2021-2022 session in a short syllabus. The vice-chancellors of the cluster universities will hold a meeting soon on the admission test. Things will be final there. Students who have passed HSC in 2020 have been agitating for the second time in the universities. Most of the vice-chancellors are in favor of giving them a chance in the admission test once again. Those who have passed HSC with improvement will also get opportunities.
Regarding the second time admission in universities, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Alamgir, a member of the Bangladesh University Grants Commission, said that students get the opportunity to get admission in almost all the universities of the world more than once. I don’t see any harm if the universities of our country continue this opportunity. Considering the reality, I hope that the universities will continue this opportunity. The UGC does not impose any decision on the universities. The university makes its decisions independently. On February 27, a large gathering of students gathered to demand a second chance for admission. They blocked the Neelkhet junction and later staged a sit-in in front of the OFFICE of the VC of Dhaka University.
