Admission test has been held in the 1st year undergraduate (honors) class of ‘Arts and Social Sciences’ unit of Government Seven Colleges affiliated to Dhaka University in the academic year 2020-2021. The test was held on Saturday (November 13) morning. The DU administration said that the admission test was held smoothly and peacefully.
In the morning, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Md. Akhtaruzzaman Begum Badrunnesa visited Government Women’s College Examination Center. At this time, among others, the chief coordinator of the admission test of the ‘Arts and Social Sciences’ unit of seven government colleges and the Dean of the Faculty of Arts, DU, Prof. Dr. Abu Md. Delwar Hossain and Begum Badrunnesa Government Women’s College Principal Professor Sabikun Nahar were present.

After inspecting the test center, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Md. Akhtaruzzaman expressed satisfaction over the smooth and peaceful conduct of the admission test. He said that the admitted candidates have participated in the examination following proper hygiene rules. He sincerely thanked all concerned for their overall cooperation in completing the admission test smoothly.
This year, the number of applicants for 14,350 seats in the ‘Arts and Social Sciences’ unit of seven government colleges is 31,356.
Dhaka University Computer Science and Engineering Department Chairman Prof. According to the information given by Md. Mostafizur Rahman, 95,622 applications have been received to take part in the admission test of seven colleges this year.
Of these, 30,626 students have applied for the Arts and Social Sciences Unit. The number of seats in seven colleges is 14,350. There are 2425 seats in Dhaka College, 3155 seats in Eden Women’s College, 3300 seats in Government Titumir College, 1800 seats in Kabi Nazrul Government College, 1250 seats in Government Shaheed Suhrawardy College, 1160 seats in Begum Badrunnesa Government Women’s College and 1180 seats in Government Bangla College. There are 1440.
Asked about the overall preparation for the exam, the coordinator (focal point) of the seven affiliated colleges and the principal of Dhaka College Professor IK Selim Ullah Khandaker said, “We have all kinds of preparations for the exam.” Candidates have been admitted to the center in compliance with the hygiene rules. Our teachers have been monitoring the situation from the main gate. Hopefully the test will be completed properly.
