The Ministry of Public Administration published this list of holidays on Tuesday. Earlier, the list of holidays was approved at a cabinet meeting held at the Prime Minister’s Office on October 31.

There will be a 31-day holiday from April 3 to May 8 on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, May Day, Buddha Purnima, Baishakhi Purnima, Shab-e-Qadr, Jumatul Bida and Eid-ul-Fitr. Besides, educational institutions will remain closed for 15 days from July 3 to July 19 during the holy Eid-ul-Azha and summer vacations.

An eight-day holiday has been kept from October 1 to 9 on the occasion of The Holy Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH), Durga Puja, Lakshmi Puja and Prabarana Purnima. Apart from this, there will be a 13-day holiday in secondary-level educational institutions from December 15 to 29 on the occasion of winter vacation, Victory Day and Christmas.

Besides, a 15-day holiday has been proposed on the occasion of other important days. There will be a 14-day general holiday on national days and important religious days of different communities. Out of these, an employee can be allowed to enjoy optional leave for three days in a year with the general, executive order and weekly leave according to his or her own religion.
In the offices whose schedule and holidays are regulated by their own laws and regulations or the offices, organizations and organizations whose jobs have been declared as essential by the government, the concerned offices, organizations and institutions will declare a holiday considering the public interest according to their own laws and regulations.
