Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has declared the product of the year 2023 in Bangladesh jute products as the product of the year 2023. She made the announcement while inaugurating the International Trade Fair-2023 at Bangabandhu Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Centre (BBCFEC) in Purbachal on Sunday. The prime minister urged the businessmen to build agro-products and food processing industries to meet the country’s demand.
While announcing this year’s products, the Prime Minister said, “Jute is the golden fiber of our country. But the demand for jute will never end. Jute products are eco-friendly. We have been able to discover the jute genome of jute. So we can produce a lot of products from here. But everything is useful. Ash from the leaves, patkhari; But it all works. So we have to give importance to jute. ’
She said work on 100 economic zones has been started for domestic and foreign investment. I’ll launch 5G there. Industries will have to be set up in economic zones, if you do outside, you will not get any service.
We have opened up the government jute industries. Those who want can take an industry. You can also start the industry that exists now. Again, in the place where there is, modern technology can be marketed to produce versatile products. There is now a huge opportunity for eco-friendly jute products all over the world. You have to take that opportunity. For this reason, jute products have been supposed to be declared as the products of the year in this year’s trade fair. I am declaring jute products as products of the year 2023. ’
There are 13 categories of stalls including general, premium, reserved, food stalls and restaurants at the fair. Besides, the Bangabandhu pavilion is there to know the history of the Liberation War.
This year, leases have been given to various local and international organizations.
The gates of the International Trade Fair will be opened at 10 am every day and will be closed at 9 pm. The fair will continue till 10 pm on public holidays. The ticket price has been fixed at Rs 40 for adults and Rs 20 for minors.
Visitors will get a 50 percent discount on tickets only if they book online. Last year, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina declared ICT product services as the product of the year or the product of the year 2022.
