Bangladesh Railway has launched an app called ‘Rail Sewa’ to make passenger service easier. Through this app, passengers will be able to buy train tickets of their choice without any hindrance. Railways Minister Nurul Islam Sujon inaugurated the new mobile app ‘Rail Sheba‘ at Rail Bhaban on Wednesday( June 22).

At a press conference after the inauguration, the railway minister said passengers will be able to collect railway tickets using the new app ‘Rail Sewa’ along with the e-ticket website of Bangladesh Railway eticket.railway.gov.bd.

He said that the app is developed and managed by Bangladesh Railway’s ticketing partner Sohoj-Synesys-Vincen JV. The app has been available on the Google Play Store since its launch. To use the app, you have to first download and register with your name, mobile number, e-mail address, national identity card number, or birth registration number. In this case, passengers who are registered on the e-ticket website will not need to register on the app again. They can only buy tickets using the app with a mobile number and password.

What’s in this Rail Sheba app?

Through this app, 500 passengers will be able to collect train tickets at once. Besides, 15,000 tickets can be collected through the app every hour. A passenger can take a maximum of four tickets through the app.

Apart from this, the bd app can choose the fare of a specific destination, ticket availability, train route, schedule, name and schedule of train-based stop stations, journey history, coach view, seat. Food can also be ordered from the app inside the train. If necessary, passengers will be able to take the help of railway police through the app.

Bangladesh Railway said that 11 types of services will be available with the help of the rail service app. The app includes buying train tickets, knowing the destination fare, getting tickets, knowing the route of the train, knowing the schedule of the train, knowing the name and time of the train-based stop-station, knowing your own travel history, coach view, contacting the name-food-caterer of the important station and buying food.

The distance of the train from the station, the location of the train, and the local transport system will also be known through this app. The RailSeva app can currently be used through all types of Android mobiles. The iPhone version will be launched very soon.
