UGC blacklisted University 2024 in Bangladesh যেসব বেসরকারি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে ভর্তিতে ইউজিসির সতর্কতা
The country’s 25 private universities are being blacklisted যেসব বেসরকারি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে ভর্তিতে ইউজিসির সতর্কতা. The University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh has decided to issue a public notice to warn students about admission in these universities.
Of the 25 blacklisted universities, nine are new. These have not yet started operating.
The universities are Rabindra Srijanakola University in Dhaka,
Rupayan AKM Shamsuzzoha University in Narayanganj,
ZNRF University of Management Sciences,
Ahasania Mission University of Science and Technology in Rajshahi,
Shah Makhdum Management University in Rajshahi,
Khan Bahadur Ahsanullah University in Khulna,
Trust University in Barisal,
International Standard University and Brahmanbaria University.
Ministry of Education and UGC officials said that after getting approval from a university, permission has to be taken to start educational activities. The companies mentioned have not yet received that permission.
IBAIS is one of the universities placed in the UGC’s proposed list. There is a conflict with its Board of Trustees (BOT) or ownership. Despite many legal battles in the court, no side of the university was successful. Currently, the university is said to be without an address.
Disputes over BOTs and court cases are pending in four others. These are Sylhet International University,
Britannia University,
Central University of Science and Technology and Southern University of Bangladesh.
The last of these had a ban on admission. The Ministry of Education decided to issue the ban for mysterious reasons about two years ago without any opinion of the UGC. For the same reason, the Ministry of Education sent a letter to the UGC on Sunday (August 4) to lift the admission ban without any discussion with the UGC.
