UNC Charlotte’s Ninernet is the primary computer network used by students, faculty, and staff for academic and administrative purposes. The network is managed by the Office of Information Technology (OIT) and provides access to a range of services and resources, including email, file storage, software applications, and online learning tools.

Ninernet is available to all members of the UNC Charlotte community and can be accessed from on-campus locations or remotely through a Virtual Private Network (VPN) connection. The network infrastructure includes wired and wireless connections in all academic and administrative buildings, as well as in student residence halls.

To connect to Ninernet, users must have a valid UNC Charlotte email address and an active NinerNET account. New students are automatically enrolled in the network when they are admitted to the University, while faculty and staff are granted access upon their employment start date.

File Storage: Ninernet provides each user with 50 GB of storage space on UNC Charlotte’s network servers, accessible from any location. This makes it easy to store and share files securely.

Software Applications: A variety of software applications are available through Ninernet, including Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Cloud, and statistical analysis software.

Online Learning Tools: Ninernet provides access to a range of online learning tools, including Blackboard, an online course management system that allows instructors to post course content, assignments, grades, and more.
