Grameenphone to launch E-SIM
The e-SIM will be available in the country from March 7. E-SIM (embedded SIM) has played an important role in providing environmental benefits including digital transformation. This information has been given in a notification sent to the media from Grameenphone on Tuesday (March 1). Multiple networks and numbers can be connected in one e-SIM; However, it will depend on the handset.
This will ensure uninterrupted connectivity services around the world. Customers will be able to use multiple numbers in e-SIM, which will bring more convenience for travelers. In order to get the new e-SIM connection of Grameenphone, the buyers have to go to Grameenphone Experience Center (Dhaka and Chittagong) and designated Grameenphone Center with the device that supports e-SIM and request for e-SIM after completing the biometric registration process.
Following the SIM purchase process, you can also request for e-SIM through Grameenphone’s online shop. To activate e-SIM by scanning the QR code with the camera in the device that supports e-SIM, an internet connection (mobile data or wifi) is required. This will eliminate the hassle of having a conventional SIM card. Under the slogan ‘Now is the time for eco-friendly digital SIM’, Grameenphone customers can now enjoy the full benefits of connectivity without a plastic SIM card on devices that support e-SIM. Grameenphone CEO Yasir Ajman said, “We are happy to bring such advanced and environmentally friendly technology to Bangladesh.”
