Dhaka University admission test in short syllabus
The admission test at Dhaka University is in a short syllabus. A preliminary decision has been taken to conduct the 2021-22 admission test of Dhaka University in light of the short syllabus. Although the short syllabus is called, there will also be exam questions from Bengali, English, and general knowledge subjects. However, this year, there are questions in the admission test including Bengali, English – in many such subjects, hsc exams have not been held. As a result, the short syllabus initially planned for the admission test is not being shortened, according to university officials.
When asked about this, The Dean of the Faculty of Science of Dhaka University Prof. Dr. Md. Abdus Chamad said that even if the admission test is conducted in the light of the short syllabus, the students will have to study Bengali, English, and general knowledge subjects. There will also be questions in the exam from these topics. “It is mandatory to answer physics and chemistry subjects in our unit. The questions of these two subjects can either be done in the light of the short syllabus.
However, in the case of other subjects, especially in Bengali and English subjects, there is no scope to ask questions in light of the short syllabus. Because there was no HSC exam in these subjects this time. So even if the short syllabus is called, the students will have to read the whole syllabus. According to them, out of the five units of the department, only ‘A’ in the Faculty of Science and ‘C’ unit of the Faculty of Business Education is questioned from the subject of the respective department.
However, there are also questions about Bengali and English subjects. Although it is not mandatory in the ‘A’ unit, in the ‘C’ unit, it is mandatory to answer Bengali and English subjects. However, the students who appeared in the HSC examination from the science and business education branch and humanities department did not take the HSC exam in Bengali and English subjects. In this case, they think they have to read these things in full.
Talking to several teachers associated with the admission test of Dhaka University, it is learned that the initial decision to conduct the admission test has been taken in light of the syllabus that the HSC candidates have read for the year 2021. That’s how they prepare the question paper. However, they doubt whether this will be of much benefit to the students. Although the education minister did not respond to the call at the beginning, the administration later took the initial decision to conduct the admission test on the basis of what the students read in the special meeting of the admission committee.
