20 universities in a cluster start classes with seats vacant

20 universities in a cluster start classes with seats vacant. The cluster universities are going to start classes with the students admitted in the year 2020-21, leaving the seats vacant due to the non-availability of students despite multiple admission notices. As the admission process for 2021-22 is approaching, such a decision is going to be taken by the concerned people.

According to sources, the universities are preparing to start classes by keeping the seats vacant as the admission process for 2021-22 is approaching. The decision to open educational institutions after February 21 will actually start the undergraduate first-year classes in a quick time. That’s how universities prepare.

It is learned that for the first time in April 2021, the admission test of 20 general, science, and technology universities was held. The results of the three units were published by November 4. After the publication of the results, the universities publish admission notices according to their rules. But almost every university is suffering from a student crisis. Despite repeated admission notices to fill up the seats, they are not getting students for admission.

In this regard, Jagannath University Vice-Chancellor Prof Imdadul Haque said, “Even if the seats are vacant, we have to start classes. Because the admission process for 2021-22 has to start. In this situation, there is no opportunity to continue the admission process of the first year of graduation for very long. That’s how we prepare.

Professor Sheikh Abdus Salam, the vice-chancellor of Islamic University, said, “There are several vacant seats in our university. A third notification has been issued to fill these seats. I hope these seats are filled. If the students are not admitted in the same way in the third notification, then we will give a public notice. I won’t wait any longer. First-year classes will begin. He also said that even if the seats are vacant, classes will be started.

The Islamic University of Kushtia is suffering from the highest number of students drought among the cluster universities. As many as 825 people have been admitted in the three units against 2,095 seats in the university. 1,270 seats are still vacant. Of these, 274 out of 550 seats in the ‘A’ unit, 746 out of 1095 seats in the ‘B’ unit, and 250 out of 450 seats in the ‘C’ unit are vacant. The authorities have released the admission notification for the third time to fill up the seats. However, in this notification also, the concerned teachers associated with the admission process of the university have expressed the fear of not getting the students.

When asked about this, Professor Munaz Ahmed Noor, convener of the technical km of the cluster universities and vice-chancellor of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Digital University, said, “We have made some mistakes as the cluster admission test was held for the first time. But if you fix them, these problems will no longer exist. We’re trying to solve things.

Initially, 3,61,401 people had applied to participate in the admission test in 20 universities in the cluster. However, due to the selection of students through selection, 2,32,455 people got the opportunity to participate in the admission test. In all, there are 22,013 seats in the cluster universities.
