UGC orders change in semester system in private universities

UGC orders change in the semester system in private universities. The UGC has written to private universities to make necessary preparations for implementing the system. The UGC said the new semester system will help private universities in Bangladesh to revise their undergraduate curriculum in favor of result-based education (OBE).

Through the system of reorganizing the curriculum on the content, students will be able to directly enhance their skills and knowledge. The University Grants Commission (UGC) has ordered to change the semester system in all private universities in the country. It has been asked to introduce the semester system of six months instead of four months from July 1 this year. The UGC said the changes are being made to increase the research and extra-curricular activities of teachers and students.
