Three more universities are being added to the cluster. The admission test will be held in a cluster system in 32 public universities. The decision was initially taken at a meeting of the UGC with vice-chancellors on Thursday regarding the admission test at the University Grants Commission (UGC). This time, the admission test will be held in 32 public universities in the country in the first year of graduation (honors) in a cluster manner. This test will take place in three groups. Out of these, three new universities are now being included in the cluster system admissions for the first time.
The universities are Kishoreganj University of Science and Technology, Chandpur University of Science and Technology, and Habiganj Agricultural University. A decision on the schedule of the admission test will be taken at a meeting of the university council on Friday. In today’s meeting, the problems that took place in the cluster examination held last year were discussed.
In order to solve these problems, the UGC has made some suggestions, including holding admission tests and selecting universities centrally according to the choice of the students and completing the migration within the stipulated time, and charging money only for the university where admission will be finalized, fixing the admission fee at a reasonable rate. It was discussed in the meeting that this year admission tests will be conducted in various colleges outside the university center. However, the eight universities that are out of the cluster will conduct admission tests on their own.
The meeting, chaired by UGC Chairman (Routine Duties) Dil Afroza Begum, was chaired by members of the Commission Muhammad Alamgir, Biswajit Chand, Md. Abu Taher, Secretary of the Commission Ferres Zaman, Director of the Department of Management of Public Universities Mohammad Jaminur Rahman, and others were present on the occasion. The meeting was attended by vice-chancellors of 36 universities and their nominated representatives.
