The number of regular packages for all types of customers can be a maximum of 50. The maximum number of customer-centric special packages will be 35. The remaining 10 will come in research and development segments so that operators can analyze the effectiveness of packages and changing customer trends. Each package will have a duration of 3, 7, 15, and 30 days.
Currently, four mobile phone operators are serving customers under hundreds of packages in telecom services. Customers are confused to find the preferred package from among additional packages and complex conditions. Customers often complain about this at the BTRC’s call center and during public hearings. In view of this, the BTRC directed the operators to reduce the number of current hundred packages to 95. According to the new guidelines, an operator can offer 95 packages in 3 categories. These are regular packages, customer-centric special packages, and research and development packages.
