Dhaka Metro Rail is a proposed metro system for Dhaka, the capital city of Bangladesh. The project aims to provide a high-speed, safe, and efficient mode of transportation to ease traffic congestion in the city. The project is still in the planning stage and no implementation dates have been set yet.
Dhaka Metro Rail will be built with the help of government and private sector investment. The system will likely have elevated and underground lines, covering over 140 km of track and serving more than a million passengers daily. The project is expected to have a significant impact on reducing traffic congestion and improving mobility in Dhaka, making it easier for people to commute to work, school, and other destinations. The project is also expected to generate economic and social benefits, such as creating jobs, boosting economic activity, and improving the quality of life for residents. The implementation of Dhaka Metro Rail will also have a positive impact on the environment by reducing air and noise pollution from road transportation.
