Each passenger will have to submit tk 500 (Tk 200 for card and Tk 300 for rent) at the counter and an MRT pass registration form (duly filled) for the pass card.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday inaugurated the country’s first electric public transport metro rail. The fare for the metro rail is Tk 5 per kilometer. The minimum fare in metro rail is Tk 20. The rent from Diabari to Agargaon is Tk 60. The fare up to Kamalapur will be Tk 100. There is no half pass for students. War-wounded freedom fighters and children of less than three feet height will not have to pay rent. Passengers will get a 10 percent discount if they pay the fare on the smart card.

Metro rail passengers will be able to buy MRT pass cards from 3 pm to 9 pm.
