ঢাকা থেকে কক্সবাজার ট্রেনের ভাড়া সময়সূচী: A new railway line has been inaugurated in the tourist city of Cox’s Bazar. The railway authorities have also fixed the passenger fare from Dhaka. But what will be the name of the first passenger train, surely the general public is interested? It’s not finalized yet, but you can be sure it’s tied to the sea-nature there!

The railway authorities have already proposed six names for the train that will run from Dhaka to Cox’s Bazar. These are Prabal Express, Himchari Express, Cox’s Bazar Express, Inani Express, Laboni Express and St. Martin Express.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will finalise a name for the first train. In Cox’s Bazar, the iconic station has been built on the model of oysters. The railway authorities believe that the name of the first train that will take passengers to this station will be available in a day or two.

From December 1, an intercity train will travel from Dhaka to Cox’s Bazar. The train will stop at Dhaka Airport and Chittagong stations only on the way. However, there is a plan to pick up passengers from the airport, but not from Chittagong. That is, it will travel directly with passengers from Cox’s Bazar. There are 9 stations on the railway line from Chittagong to Cox’s Bazar. These are Dohazari, Satkania, Lohagara, Harbang, Chakaria, Dulahazra, Islamabad, Ramu and Cox’s Bazar.

আন্তনগর ট্রেনের শোভন চেয়ারের ভাড়া ধরা হয়েছে ৫০০ টাকা। অর্থাৎ ৫০০ টাকা ঢাকা থেকে কক্সবাজার যাওয়া যাবে। আবার একই ভাড়ায় কক্সবাজার থেকে ঢাকায় আসা যাবে। এই পথে এসি চেয়ারের ভাড়া পড়বে ৯৬১ টাকা। এসি সিটের ভাড়া ধরা হয়েছে ১ হাজার ১৫০ টাকা। আর ঘুমিয়ে যাওয়ার জন্য প্রতি যাত্রীকে ভাড়া দিতে হবে ১ হাজার ৭২৫ টাকা।

প্রথম যে ট্রেনটি চলাচল করবে, সেটি বিরতিহীন হওয়ায় এই ভাড়ার সঙ্গে ‘নন-স্টপ চার্জ’ হিসেবে আরও ১০ শতাংশ ভাড়া যুক্ত হবে বলে রেলওয়ে সূত্র জানিয়েছে।

The first train will leave Dhaka for Cox’s Bazar at 10:30 pm. It is scheduled to reach Cox’s Bazar at 6:40 am. That is, the running time of this train has been estimated at 8 hours and 10 minutes. The train will leave Cox’s Bazar for Dhaka at 1 pm. It is scheduled to reach Dhaka at 9:10 pm.

As per the railways’ plan, the non-stop intercity train can have 18 coaches. These coaches have recently been imported from South Korea. Of these, it has been decided to have three AC cabins, five AC chairs, six shovon chairs, one first seat room. Apart from this, there will be two food cars and one power car for the power system. Usually, there is a food cart in the intercity train. Every train in the railways has a number. When the Dhaka-Cox’s Bazar train leaves Dhaka, its number will be 814 and the coming train will be number 813.

Usually, the intercity trains that run at night have sleeping rooms. However, there will be no arrangement to sleep in this train of Dhaka-Cox’s Bazar route at the beginning. Railway officials said that ac berth coaches were not available initially. Added later

Rent Determination
The distance from Dhaka to Cox’s Bazar is 346 kilometers. The railway authorities have already fixed the fare for all trains. However, there will be different fares for different classes of intercity, mail, commuter trains.

According to railway sources, the fare of the shovon chair of the intercity train has been fixed at Tk 500. That is, you can go to Cox’s Bazar from Dhaka for Tk 500. Again, you can come to Dhaka from Cox’s Bazar at the same fare. On this route, the fare of AC chair will be Tk 961. The fare of AC seat has been fixed at Tk 1,150. And for sleeping, each passenger will have to pay Tk 1,725.

Railway sources said that the fare will be added as a ‘non-stop charge’ as the first train will run non-stop.

Currently, Suvarna Express, Sonar Bangla Express, Turna Express and Mahanagar Pravati/Twilight Express run on dhaka-Chattogram route. These intercity trains run with almost 100 per cent seating. Railway authorities have analysed the movement of these trains and showed that the railways will earn about Tk 3.5 crore a month if a train runs non-stop on the Dhaka-Cox’s Bazar route.

Trains will be extended in phases. It is expected that this path will be quite profitable. Passengers will also get good service.
