Ministry of Education has decided to induct more than 350 new teachers into MPO. The Ministry of Education has taken a policy decision to enroll 35 new teachers who have joined various private educational institutions through the Private Teacher Registration and Certification Authority (NTRCA) after receiving recommendations. Education Ministry Public Relations Officer Mohammad Abul Khair confirmed the matter.

Asked about this, NTRCA chairman Enamul Quader Khan said the meeting discussed a number of NTRCA issues, including MPO complications for 35 new teachers. MPO registration is not our issue though. However, the NTRCA-recommended teachers who could not join the MPO were discussed at the meeting. At the meeting, the officials gave a positive opinion about them.

The meeting was held in the meeting room of the Secondary and Higher Education Department of the Ministry of Education on Sunday morning. Education Minister presided over the meeting. NTRCA Chairman Enamul Quader Khan and several other officials of the organization participated in it.

Asked about the decision of the meeting, Public Relations Officer Mohammad Abul Khair said, “The meeting has taken a policy decision to resolve the complexities of MPO registration of teachers over 35 years of age who have joined on the recommendation of NTRCA.”

Teachers say that the MPO policy and manpower structure issued on June 12, 2016, sets the maximum age for appointment as a teacher in a private institution. Since then, candidates over the age of 35 have not been recommended for the post of teacher. Later, the candidates got into a legal battle. The NTRCA appealed if the High Court ruled in favor of these candidates.

A recent ruling of the Appellate Division has set the age limit for the candidates who have obtained a registration certificate before the issuance of the MPO policy. According to him, by issuing a public notice on March 30, 2021, the age of those who have obtained the registration certificate before June 12, 2017, is relaxed and the application is taken.
