How to Apply for Birth Registration, Although the Bangladesh government enacted the Birth Registration Act in 2004, it has been implemented since 2006. According to this law, birth registration is mandatory for all citizens, but many parents do not know about the procedures for registering a child’s birth.

 

The first state recognition of a child after birth is the birth certificate. The government has made it mandatory to register a child’s birth within 45 days of birth. If the birth is not registered on time after the birth of the child, there is a risk of facing various problems. Birth registration in Bangladesh can be done in person or online. If you want to register the birth in person, then the applicant must go to the specified office. From there the birth registration form should be filled out. The birth registration offices are-

Chairman of the Union Parishad or any official authorized by the Government.

Municipal Mayor or any officer or councilor empowered under him.

Mayor of City Corporation or any officer authorized by him or Ward Councillor.

President of Cantonment Board or any officer authorized by him.

Ambassador of Bangladesh embassies abroad.

The first step in birth registration is to collect certain forms. The applicant must collect the form from the designated office. The second step is to fill out the specified form. Name, date of birth, place of birth, and gender of the child should be mentioned in cell No. 1. Here the date of birth should be written in numbers in the upper column and in words in the lower column.

 

The name of the child’s parents and their nationality should be entered in box 2 of the specified form. The child’s permanent and current address should be entered in boxes 3 and 4 of the form respectively. If the child has any kind of disability then box 5 should be ticked according to the disability.

The third step of birth registration is the submission of certain forms. The form should be duly filled out and submitted to the specified office (Union Parishad, Municipality, City Corporation, or Ward Commission under City Corporation). Necessary documents must be attached at the time of submission.

 

The fourth step of birth registration is to collect coupons. The following part of the specified birth registration form should be kept in the applicant’s collection. That is, while submitting the specific birth registration form, the lower part of the form will be filled by the office and given to the applicant. The date of issue of the birth certificate will be mentioned there.

The fifth step of birth registration is to collect the birth certificate. At the time of submitting the birth registration form, the applicant has to collect the birth registration certificate from the specified office on the date mentioned in the coupon. 15 days after the application, the applicant has to attend the specified office with the necessary documents and the printed copy. You will get the birth certificate only after submitting the documents there.
