100% of the school admissions have not yet been completed. The District Policy Forum (PDF) in collaboration with the British Council held a review meeting in Kishoreganj on the overall situation, including improvement in the quality of primary education. At the review meeting chaired by PDF District Committee President Rabindranath Chowdhury on Wednesday at the District Collectorate Conference Hall with financial assistance from the European Union, the chief guest, Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Shamim Alam, special guest Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and ICT) Mohammad Golam Mostafa and District Primary Education Officer Subrata Kumar Merchant, besides Sadr Upazila Executive Officer Mohammad Ali Siddiqui and Deputy Director of The District Social Service Department Md. Headmasters of various schools, including Kamruzzaman Khan, education officers of different levels spoke. It was hosted by PDF secretary Mir Ashraf Ali.

It was told in the meeting that the government has tried to admit 100 percent of the children in primary schools, but it is still not being fulfilled. Because children from many poor families have to sell child labor for the family.

It is not possible to hold them only with a stipend of 150 rupees in the school. If the poor students are given satisfactory financial assistance, it may be possible to retain them in the school. However, the speakers said that primary education is not at the previous level. Now there is creativity in the education program. The atmosphere of joy in the class has increased. The classrooms have been decorated with educational words and paintings.

The world of knowledge is growing. The technology is changing, it is improving. You have to adapt to it. But more training is needed to enhance the overall skills of teachers. Primary teachers can teach from their own homes. This gives them a lot of family and financial benefits. Their grades have also been improved. As a result, teachers need to be more sincere.

It was urged in the meeting to practice purification by supervising one’s own work. Now the government has made arrangements for free education and stipends up to a level including providing free textbooks on the first day of the year along with infrastructure development to improve education. The speakers also commented that the quality of education in the classroom has to be increased if coaching is to be stopped.
