Students of private universities get a unique ID. The government is providing unique IDs for students of private universities. All information about universities and students will be preserved. The government has taken this initiative to ensure certificate verification and to protect students from cheating. The UGC said every student studying in a private university will have a 16-digit identity number against it. It will have the serial, year of admission, semester of admission, hall, program number, and student’s roll number of the university respectively. All private universities will have a serial number issued from the UGC. This serial will be 3 digits.

The unique ID will have the year code of admission of the student. In this case, in the calendar year in which the student has been admitted, the last two digits of that year will sit. Then there will be the admission semester code. Then there will be the code. After that, the program code will be placed in the ID. The UGC prescribed code will sit here. Then the student’s serial. The serial number of admission of the student in the course/program will be of 3 digits. The admission of that student to the university will be according to the order or the procedure prescribed by the university.
