No objection to opening of educational institutions: Health Minister

There is no objection if schools and colleges are opened: Health Minister. At the same time, the minister also said that due to the closure of educational institutions, the education of the students is suffering. At present as corona infection has come down and at the same time, most of the educational institutions have come under the ambit of vaccination. Therefore, educational institutions can be opened according to hygiene. It’s also being opened all over the world. Earlier in the morning, education minister Dr. Dipu Mani said the holidays of educational institutions would not be extended any further.

According to the situation, a decision will be taken after a meeting with the consultative committee. Meanwhile, corona infection is decreasing every day. The number of deaths is also decreasing. Health Minister Zahid Maleque has said that there is no objection if educational institutions are opened from February 22. He said this at a function in Manikganj on Saturday (February 12) afternoon. All educational institutions in the country have been closed since January 21 due to the increase in corona infections. In the second phase, the holiday has been extended till February 21. Educational institutions were closed for a year and a half.

However, at present, the Ministry of Education has expressed interest in opening educational institutions as the corona situation is somewhat normal. Meanwhile, in-person classes for first-year students of Dhaka University will start on February 22. Classes for students of other years will also be started in a phased manner, the university administration said. Rajshahi University has also announced to start in-person classes from February 22 if there is no new government restriction.
