Demand for migration to ‘A’ and ‘D’ units of Dhaka University. The students have demanded migration against the vacant seats in Dhaka university’s ‘A’ and ‘D’ units. They will submit a memorandum along with the VC on Tuesday (February 15) demanding this. The students, who wanted to submit the memorandum, said there are enough vacant seats in units ‘A’ and ‘D’. The authorities are not taking any initiative to fill these seats.

One of the students said that the first round of admission to the ‘A’ unit of the dhaba started on December 30 and ended on January 6. Many of the admitted students canceled their admission to the dhabai as they got chances elsewhere. As a result, many seats are empty. According to various sources, the number of vacant seats is still more than 200. Another student said that on January 22, the seat was filled through the 2nd call in the ‘D’ unit. Many of the students admitted have canceled admissions. But the university has said that the vacant seats will be kept vacant which is unreasonable.

Again in the ‘D’ unit, the last merit of commerce was up to 1200, among which some seats in the quota of freedom fighters are vacant. In the ‘D’ unit, the quota of commerce was on the 11th. Those who have got subjects in the ‘C’ unit have moved to the ‘C’ unit. As a result, seats were also vacant. Several seats, including the freedom fighter quota of commerce in the ‘D’ unit, are vacant. But the university says the seats are not vacant. We also have proof that seats are vacant. In this situation, I demand that the vacant seats be filled.

Another student said that there are many vacant seats in the ‘A’ and ‘D’ units of the dhaba. But no students are admitted to that vacant seat. Authorities say the vacant seats will remain vacant. But in other units, the vacant seats have been filled by calling the students from waiting. In this situation, I demand that the seats be filled up immediately. If not, he said, there will be a larger program.
