Dhaka University students return to class in person

At Dhaka University, the students returned to class in person. After more than a month, the students of Dhaka University (DU) have returned to class in person. During this long vacation, the departments have conducted their academic activities online. There is a sense of excitement among the students as they can come to the class in person on Tuesday. It is to be noted that in the light of the notification issued by the Cabinet Department due to the increase in corona infection, the in-person education activities in Dhobi were stopped from January 21 to February 6.

Again, due to the rapid increase in the infection rate of Omicron, the holiday period of the closed educational institutions was extended by two more weeks from February 6 to February 21. When asked if the corona vaccination certificate of the students will be verified after returning to class in person, Saifuddin Ahmed, chairman of the Department of Peace and Conflict Studies, said, “The notification we have received from the university does not give any instructions to verify the vaccination certificate.

That’s why we’re not taking that into account. However, health rules must be followed in the classroom and no one can enter without a mask. And we have all the information about who took the vaccine among the students and who did not. According to the university’s decision, today’s offline class activities have started. Students of all the years of the university will continue to have proper hygiene activities in the classroom in person.

In addition, pre-announced routine-based tests will continue. Habib Rahman, a student of the Arabic department, said, “We are very happy that the classes have started in person. There will be a request to the university authorities that in the future, all classes should be taken offline in accordance with the highest health rules.
