Diesel Price in Bangladesh
The price of fuel oil has been reduced for the second time in coordination with the international market. The price of diesel and kerosene has been reduced by Rs 2.25 per liter. Petrol and octane prices remain the same. The Energy and Mineral Resources Division issued a notification in this regard on Sunday. The new prices will be effective from April 1.
Earlier on March 7, the price of diesel and kerosene was reduced by Tk 75 per liter, octane by Tk 4 and petrol by Tk 3 per liter.
Diesel accounts for 75 per cent of the fuel used in the country. It is commonly used in agricultural irrigation, generators, and transportation. As a result, experts believe that the impact of price reduction will not be much at the consumer level, but the profit of transport traders will increase.
In the new price, the price of diesel and kerosene has been reduced from tk 108.25 per liter to Rs 106 per liter. The price of octane per liter is Tk 126 and the price of petrol is Tk 122 per liter.
At present, the Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission fixes the price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) every month in line with the international market. In this process, the price of fuel oil will also be determined.
