Kerosene Price in Bangladesh
The prices of diesel and kerosene have been reduced again in coordination with the international market, but octane and petrol prices have remained unchanged. The price of diesel and kerosene has been reduced by tk 2.25. This price has been fixed for the month of April.
The Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources said this in a press release on Sunday. According to the notification, the price of this oil has been adjusted for April in the light of the dynamic pricing formula to determine the price of fuel oil every month at the consumer level in the automatic system in line with the decrease or increase in the price of fuel oil in the world market.
According to the new decision, the price of diesel has been reduced by Tk 2.25 per liter from Tk 108.25 to Tk 106, kerosene has been reduced by Tk 2.25 from Tk 108.25 to Tk 106 per liter. Meanwhile, the price of octane has been adjusted at the consumer level by keeping the price of octane at Tk 126 per liter and the price of petrol at Tk 122 per liter. The revised prices will be effective from April 1.
Earlier on February 29, the government issued a gazette notification on automatic pricing of fuel oil. In continuation of that, on March 7, the notification of adjusting the price of fuel oil according to the first pricing formula was published.
According to the ministry, the comparative figure shows that in the neighboring country of India, Kolkata is currently selling diesel at Rs 90.76 or Rs 130.69 per liter (1 rupee = 1.44 rupees) and petrol at Rs 109.94 or 158.31 rupees, which is more than Bangladesh.
Earlier on March 7, the Energy and Mineral Resources Division issued a notification saying that the prices of octane, petrol, diesel and kerosene used in the country have been reduced in coordination with the international market, which came into effect from March 8. Then the price of diesel and kerosene was reduced by 75 paise from Tk 109 per liter and fixed at Tk 108.25 per liter. The price of octane was reduced by Tk 4 to Tk 126 from Tk 130 per liter and the price of petrol was reduced by Tk 3 from Tk 125 to Tk 122.
