Holidays in the executive order are: March 29, Shabberat, April 14, April New Year, May 10, Sunday, 13 and 15 May before Eidul Fitr and the next day, July 20 and 22 before Eidul Azhar, before and next day and August 29 Ashura.

Optional holidays in Muslim episodes are – 12th of March Shabe Miraj, 16th day on the third day of Eidul Fitr, 23th day on the third day of Eidul Azhar, October 6 Akheri Chahar Swoba and November 17 Fatehah-e-Yazdaham. The optional holidays of the Hindu period are Saraswati Puja on February 16, Shivratri Brat on March 21, March 28, Dolphatra, April 9, Harichand Tagore’s arrival, October 6 Mahalaya, October 14 Durgapuja (ninth), October 20 Lakshmi Puja and November 4 Shyamapuja.

Apart from this, January 1 English New Year, February 17, Wednesday, April 1, Pure Friday, April 2 April Pure Friday, 3 April Saturn, 4 April Easter Sunday and December 24 and 26 Birth of Jesus Christ (before and after Christmas) are optional holidays of the Christian episode. The optional holidays (Buddhist episodes) are – Maghi Purnima on January 28, Chaitra Sankranti on April 13, Ashadhi Purnima on July 23, Madhu Purnima on September 20 and Prabarana Purnima (Ashwini Purnima) on October 20.

According to the leave order, an employee can be allowed to enjoy a maximum of three days of optional leave in a year according to his own religion. Every employee will have to take prior approval from the competent authority to enjoy the optional leave of 3 days according to his religion at the beginning of the year. General holidays, public holidays and weekly holidays can be allowed to enjoy optional holidays by executive order.
